Lesson Nineteen

Discovering and Researching On line Niches that make Money

This lesson is inspired by my passion for advertising.

If you are serious about your career as an Internet marketer or just want to make an extra income stream to help with the bills you need to know where to find accurate information about the niche you have chosen to work with.

Whether you are building a website about a particular niche or writing a blog with affiliate links to promote someone else's products or services you need a constant stream of updated information about your subject.

My business plan includes writing e books, selling information products, selling consumer products, building Ad sense websites for Ad sense revenue and building websites for commercial applications. So the quality of my research is largely determined by the quality of the information that I can attain.

About six months ago I stumbled upon a company that has its roots grounded in agency advertising but has become one of the biggest producers and publishers of video content on line.

Whatever your on line niche this company will have data on your subject and I have particularly found the top ten lists they produce to be fantastic.

Can you imagine being able to research practically any niche you can think of completely for free at the click of your mouse?

Well if you can, check out my favorite information source on line.

The Mojo supreme network is famous in the advertising world for producing top ten lists on practically anything you can think of any also for their constantly updated blogs on almost everything.

The link below will take you to watch Mojo.com so have a quick look around then come back and I will detail how this and all the other Mojo specialty sites help to make me money on line.

www.watchmojo.com

If I am about to enter a new niche the top ten lists that Mojo produce give me invaluable insight as to what is currently popular whether it be travel, sport, music, automotive, health, web, techie, politics, history, film or even food and “watchmojo” even has specialty websites for all of the above topics and many more.

In fact think of any niche you would like to learn a little more about and I guarantee that you will gain a greater understanding of your subject within ten minutes on one of the Mojo websites.

Let me give you a recent example of the rss feed I get from www.hipmojo.com  - saving me some money and a lot of time and heartache as well.

I was about to build a website to promote an affiliate program that offered a software program that is relatively inexpensive and basically a very basic copy of Adobes Photo shop.

As I subscribe to “hipmojo”, I remembered something in the back of my mind about adobe being about to release a new version of Photo shop.

So I simply click on www.hipmojo.com  and scroll down the index bar a couple of places to see stories on adobe.

Read a few lines of the below story to see why I decided not to promote the affiliate product.

Some time ago I wrote a post explaining why I sold Adobe.  The company is great and I love their acquisition of Macro media and all but I just saw piracy and mainly free services as a major threat to their business.

Today their CEO Bruce Chizen came out and said  that the company will launch a free, ad-supported Photoshop.  This is wise and dangerous: it’s wise because the company realises that nowadays no one is on a computer but not connected, and once you are connected, everything is a click away, including pirated versions or free versions of a company’s software.  And since people nowadays spend 25% of their time online but marketers still only spend 10% of their ad budgets online, there is a large opportunity right there.  But, for a company that is worth $20B to come out and offer free services for a one-time core, money-making application, it sends a message that it sees a major loss of pricing power and needs to react.

So based on the above information I decided that I did not want to put my heart and soul into building a new site and spending money promoting it only to develop a niche that would inevitably be killed off on the release of adobes new program.

So lets wipe that idea but stay on the Mojo program and look for some niches to build new Ad sense websites in.

Remember your market is anyone who knows less than you do and the amount of fresh content that the Mojo websites serve up to me daily means that I am never short of content that I can re-write for my Ad sense sites for fresh article content.

Have a look at the range of subjects that I have a never ending stream of content on as well as ever changing top ten lists for niches and sub-niches.

So as you can see the Mojo network has a lot of bases covered and these are just a few.

The resource that the Guru recommended to me at the very beginning is the program I use constantly to build Ad sense websites with.

If you haven't yet purchased XSitePro that we featured in Lesson Five>>

But you would like some additional free information about the software and how it works?
