Keywords – How to Select Them and then How to Rank Their Importance

1.  Make sure your page title contains your main keyword or key phrase.

2.  Ensure your headline (H1 Tag) has your main or your secondary key phrase included.

3.  If you are using pictures on your site, they should always contain Alt text descriptions with clear descriptions.

4.  An example would be if you had a picture of silver CLS 63 Mercedes-Benz on your website, your description would be:

The page descriptions should also have words that relate totally to the page content. 

5.  The description you write must read like you would speak it and not be too heavy with keywords.

6.  What people read in the search index will determine if they click through.  So make the words catchy and relevant to your content.

7.  The longer a key phrase is, the easier it is to have a high page rank for the term.

8.  Long phrases will get you a more targeted visitor.

9.  One word keywords are only for experienced webmasters as you will have to be prepared to battle it out with other S.E.O experts.

10.  Make your content unique.

11.  Search engines love unique original content.

12.  Your keyword theme should combine words that truly explain what your website is about if you write them all down together.
